“Greay Location”

It is a great value in the Garden District. Streetcar stops in front of the Hotel and is a cheap way to get around. It is a time share property but we were never approached about buying a time share.Staff was friendly and all and all it was a good experience.Room was spacious and included a full kitchen.

Stayed here for a short trip to New Orleans and had a good time. The front desk was very helpful and the bell staff was superb. The only problem was that the streetcar line directly in front of the hotel was under repair, however we could catch the bus and then connect.

....I would not stay here again. Its a Wyndham time share property. They rent available rooms to tourists,You are not treated as an "owner".Front desk told me that the coffee/breakfast area and gym etc were for owners.Nothing about that when reservations were made.We used all that stuff anyway but it felt funny.Front desk service was uneven. Some helpful/some not.The property is more like a nice Interstate hotel than a New Orleans resort hotel. It is aging some and hot water was scarce for one day.
A tip off I missed - I learned of the place through an email from Cooking.com!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views.

We stayed here a week. After having a negative experience at another Garden District hotel it was heaven to move here. The staff are very friendly, the room is large with a full size kitchen, and it is very convenient to transportation. Additional goodies are themes every day. There is a nice restaurant attached to the hotel and other good restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this hotel

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Avenue Plaza. We had a studio room complete with a kitchen. The kitchen was well appointed with all necessary dishes and silverware. Our room was updated, clean and very comfortable. Sitting on the roof deck at the end of the day was very enjoyable. The staff was helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, the streetcar was not running due to maintenance and the buses were crowded. It is a short ride to Canal St and the $1.25 single ride, $3.00 all day Jazzy pass were a deals. If is located in a quieter neighborhood in the Garden District away from the hustle and noise of the French Quarter. A short distance down St Charles Ave is the Fresh Market. It is a great place for food shopping. Parking is on the expensive side but with the inexpensive passes on the transit system, we did not find a car necessary.

Room Tip: A higher floor away from St Charles Avenue noise would be preferable.

We usually stay in the French Quarter, but opted to try out the Garden District. The streetcar wasn't running due to track renovations, and bus wasn't as convenient, but for $1.25 each way, it is quite a deal
Our room had a separate bedroom, dining table and kitchenette which was great to have for leftovers and having the option not to dine out every meal.
Very quiet, comfortable and clean. The walk-in shower was great!
There is a heated pool and hot tub in a beautiful courtyard setting. The Ashley House is also right there. It's listed as one of the most haunted homes in the area. We met many friendly people (no ghosts) while spending time out there.
The exercise room was the largest I've ever seen at a hotel--Even a free weight area and Nautilus type machines.
Several good and fast food restaurants within walking distance and a Walgreens a couple of blocks away.
Washer and dryer on site if you need to do a load of laundry.
Full-service housekeeping available for about $50. We exchanged towels every other day and didn't need the service. We took our trash down one time during our stay, so wasn't a hassle. Upon arrival, check with the front desk about hours for the towel exchange.
Staff was courteous and friendly, especially Joseph (Joe) the groundskeeper and Cedric the bellman.
Will definitely stay at this property everytime we come to New Orleans.

We stayed here a week, trading in using our Interval timeshare week. We arrived way to early to check in-7AM, after driving 12 hours. (We miscalculated the time of our arrival). They had a room for us so we could go crash. It was a 1 bedroom and it was just what we wanted. Everything looked new!!, and everything worked!! (some timeshares do not have that going for them) Everyone from the front desk to the bellmen, valet, housekeeping, were the best you could ask for. So nice, friendly, helpful, no matter what you asked or needed. The pool looked like it would be relaxing but we did not have time, and the weather was too cool for us to partake of it. Information on what to do and see was always at our fingertips. We really would stay here again. It was right next to the bus stop so we did not have to use our car for the entire week!! a plus anytime we are in a city with traffic jams-and they do get them each am and pm in the BIG EASY. And if we had chosen to walk to downtown, it would be less than 20 blocks.
I might add that EVERYONE we met in NOLA was friendly, helpful, and so nice. It was a joy to visit this city.
