I left some sweaters in a drawer when we checked out---when I telephoned later the staff was most agreeable and returned my sweaters speedily. That kind of service made the whole experience positive. One of the better Hamptons we've encountered, and our salute to the extremely courteous staff.

The rooms were huge, and they had our group set up in adjoining rooms before we even asked for them! All the people were super nice & helpful, the rooms were spotless, maid service was unobtrusive but on time. Location is great if you want to see mardi gras parades and have quick access to the French Quarter. About a block and a half from Canal (parades), streetcar stop right outside hotel, cross canal street and you are on Bourbon. Valet parking got our car there quickly, so quickly we weren't ready yet! Would definately stay here again. One of my favorite hotels in New Orleans, especially for the price.

About 2 blocks from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street ,but far enough to miss the noise when the work is done and the day is over. Free Breakfast that is better than average. It backs up to an inside mall for lunch and work needs. 4th floor is the floor to be on.
Service People are nice, very happy it is part of the Hilton chain.

Room Tip: 4th floor is the floor with Breakfast and Lounge area. It was nice to walk from room directly to Breakfast and walk back to get my laptop case for work.

Walking distance to Canal/Bourbon but away from the noise. We left another hotel early due to problems and as this was my second choice we moved here. The room was nice, not much of a view from our room though. Room had a safe, microwave and refrigerator and anything else you may need for your trip. If you didn't bring something the front desk was well stocked with items. Loved the fact that you needed a key to access the elevators. The buffet was ok, no meats available, unlike other Hampton's I've stayed, but still ok.

The bathroom was in need of remodeling/updating but other than that it was a nice, spacious room. The maid service was great and helpful.

our room was very nice. my husband and i stayed in a corner room that had a king-sized bed. the room was very clean and large. the best part was the awesome air conditioner. we are both hot natured and you could hang ice sickles in our room---it was awesome! the hotel was very quiet and well secured. the front door has at least two bell hops/valet people there, then at 11pm the door locks and you need your room key to enter. when you enter the elevator, you need your room key to get to your floor. the bed was alright, i've had more comfortable beds at other locations, but the linens and pillows were very nice.

one thing i was not aware of and rather upset about was the $50/day "resort fee." shame on me for not assuming they would charge this, since most tourist cities have this "fee" now. i didn't know about this until the hotel overcharged my credit car for both the nightly fee and resort fee. they assure me the money will be refunded back on my card in 3 business days, but i'm still fustrated that i wasn't told about it.

all in all, the hampton inn was a great place to stay, as it usually is. close enough to all the fun new orleans spots, but far enough away to not be distured by annoying people. the cable car goes right in front of the hotel, and it only costs $3/day for unlimited use. i would reccomend this hotel to anyone, but just be aware of the resort fee.

Room Tip: ask for a corner room
