We wanted lunch at Commander's Palace, but one man in our party was wearing shorts! Down the street we went to Coquette. We sat outside on a beautiful October afternoon. White tablecloths, butter knives, the works! We all ordered the three course $20 lunch and it was terrific, everyone beyond satisfied. One had Carrot Ravioli (superb) and the rest had the local greens with pecans and goat cheese (simply great) for first course. Second course was the juicy chicken breast with lightly spicy/ sweet flavors. One had the grits and shrimp, yummy too. We all finished with the lemon tart. Perfect size and flavors. Nice bottle of white wine was easy on the wallet too. Our waitress came out refilling our glasses every so often, perfect timing. The restaurant is very charming but we sat outside with sounds of the city.

The food was wonderful, our waitress Erin made sure everything went smoothly and we were seated right on time for our Saturday night reservation. We dined upstairs where the room had a nice buzz to it and it had a classy feeling. We shared a couple of appetizers, a crab salad and a beef duo that was just wonderful. The duck breast was the winner of the night!! The sea scallops, bass and pork chop were all top notch. We enjoyed a number of wine selections by the glass. This restaurant is located in the Garden district and was a short taxi ride from the hotel.

The restaurant was full, but I was able to get seated immediately outdoors which turned out to be very nice. I enjoyed watching the passers by while I sat under the shade of the gorgeous oak trees. Ordered the steak pomme frittes which was honestly one of the only things on the menu that I knew what it was (guess I'm not enough of a gourmand!) It was delicious! The service was a bit slow and we ended up missing out on the cemetary tour we planned due to the long wait for the food. Decided against dessert (seemed expensive and nothing on the menu looked that great) and when I stumbled upon Sucre a few blocks down was VERY happy that I did. Amazing!! Overall a pleasant lunch.

After walking around in the garden district we found this place which is very good and has awsome drinks. I had the "mule". Very nice on a hot day. The salad with goat chesse was very good. I had shrimp and grits and that was great. Would go back again. Nice vibe!

In a town of spectacular restaurants, this one didn't make the grade for us. Since they had only been reopened after Hurricane Isaac for one day, we expected the limited menu but not the limited service from several staff.

We had just come from the hospital where my friend had been told her foot was broke and to ice it every 10 minutes. Since we didn't have power and were starved, we went in search of food. Commander's Palace wasn't open but they called Coquette & then directed us there.

We arrived 10 minutes after they opened, but were told they could only seat us upstairs or at the bar (though there were open tables in the first room and friend was on crutches).
Our meals were expensive for brunch and nothing special. I had the fish tacos with beautiful presentation, but very little flavor. And service was so slow, they comped a round of mimosas - and it was usually quite difficult to get the attention of the bartender a refill - who we had asked for ice for the friend's foot and were told she was too busy, but we could ask the previously unhelpful hostess. (Eventually, a waiter was persuaded to help us with ice)
