Everyone told me before I got to NOLA that I just had to try a beignet and coffee here-what a joke. Yes it is true the beignets are good but the coffee was bad and it was just a zoo of tourists who all heard they had to come here. Like sheep. I would NOT make this a must do. There is so much good food and drink in this town-skip the circus. Find someplace that doesn't feel like Vegas buffett.

"Bengeit" i think. it is a peice of fried batter covered with powered sugar. I bought a box to make for my kids! who doesnt like fried batter?????

The coffee was strong, whats great is they offer coffee and chickorey blend. Chickorey is the poor mans coffee. i first tried this a good friends farm.

Girft shop is cool. spend 20 minutes in line for cup and beignet! you wont be disaapointed,

For breakfast, late night snack or anytime in between. Walk in and find a table which are very close together. Everything is covered in powdered sugar and you will be too. Eventually, a server will find you, clean off the table and take your order. The service is very efficient and your order will be served quickly. Beignet's are what they are known for and deservedly so. Having tried Beignet's from other cafes i can attest these are the best in the city. A ggod place for people watching and during the day there are musicians playing if you just want to relax and have a Hurricane.

A must do on a trip to NOLA! Beignets call to us on every visit. Certainly contributed to the 5 pounds I gained on our recent visit! Love the chicory coffee too! Powdered sugar blowing everywhere!

We went here in the evening, when there were no lines. One must avoid wearing black clothes, because the icing sugar on the beignets tends to spill on to ones clothes. There is very little space between the tables, but service is pretty quick. The beignets are nice, and the portions are decent sized. There are some good souvenirs shops on the opposite side.
