A charming, comfortable B&B in a beautiful part of town, walkable to the streetcar and to excellent restaurants, a short hop from the French Quarter. The owners are warm and welcoming with fascinating conversation over a convivial breakfast. The Chimes made our stay in the Big Easy!

Stayed here recently over a very busy holiday weekend. Owners were most cordial and helpful. Our room was quiet and clean with very comfy bed. Nice location in a quiet neighborhood that is only a short walk to transportation and restaurants/shops.One word of warning...transportation on NBA Allstar weekend is most difficult so plan your stay for another time !

Yes, you are correct about the availability of taxi's on a special event weekend. We are sorry for the delays that you encountered when the system was overloaded. We hope you will return one day and have the leisurely public transportation experience.Thank you for taking the time to let others know.

Staying at the Chimes was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our time in New Orleans. The flight to nola was delayed due to an ice storm, but our hosts figured out a way for us to stay a couple of extra nights. Breakfast even featured a King Cake one morning. Location is perfect as it is close to both Magazine and St.Charles.

Jill and Charles were perfect hosts and had many great suggestions, not to mention some very interesting historical facts. Each room is different and the garden area was welcoming even though the weather was cold during part of our visit.

You won't go wrong staying at the Chimes.

I was travelling across the USA by train by myself and wanted to find somewhere at a reasonable price in a safe area of NO. I could not have picked anywhere better than Chimes; situated a streetcar ride from the French quarter and within walking distance of Magazine Street in a quiet tree-lined street. Comfortable spacious room, welcoming hosts, pretty courtyard to sit in with a beer or glass of wine (honesty box system to pay for drinks from the fridge) - and excellent breakfasts. I've been recommending it to others and if I return to NO I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. And - for fellow Brits - if you are getting withdrawal symptoms and you ask nicely I'm sure the owner, Jill, will share her Marmite cache with you!

We loved our stay at The Chimes. Our rooms were perfect for the 5 days we spent in New Orleans. They were spacious and beautifully outfitted. The bed was so comfortable and all the comforts of home are supplied. The breakfasts were so tasty and Jill was a fountain of information regarding best places to dine at and visit. It is a short and easy walk through the beautiful Garden District to the tram from the Chimes. We enjoyed our time in New Orleans and The Chimes was one of the best places we stayed at during our 30 day trip across America.

Room Tip: We stayed in Guest Room 2 and it was a perfect size for a couple.

The Chimes is a wonderful place to stay. Jill & Charles have cracked the code on hospitality. Beautiful place, great location, fabulous hosts. You can't go wrong with The Chimes. Tripadvisor is being a pain in the butt requiring 200 characters so I added this last sentence.
