The room was a good value in my opinion. It wasn't the biggest but was adequate given the price. The service there was friendly and helpful. The location is the best I have stayed at in New Orleans. It is close to everything but far enough away from Bourbon to get away from the noise.

My wife and I stayed here last October. We loved the ambiance and the coziness of our room that was just off of the courtyard on the ground floor. The front desk ladies and the rest of the staff were friendly and very helpful, as were management; this has become our favorite hotel at which to lodge while in the Quarter.

We would have given them 5 out of 5 but there occurred an incident with housekeeping that put us off. Other than that, we have no problem in recommending this hotel highly.

I have to give this 4 stars because the staff was nice, location was great, the room was mostly clean (could have been a bit better), the bed was comfortable...but....you couldn't pay me to ever stay here again. It is BY FAR the creepiest place I have ever been. I didn't sleep at all at night. We came with others who stayed in another part of the hotel and they had the same issue. We all decided to call it quiets by 5am and left to get a different hotel.

We have stayed at the Place d'Armes Hotel for 3 Mardi Gras around 25 years ago and never regretted it. It was very expensive at that time and you had to make reservations way in advance for Mardi Gras. It was a perfect first class location and hotel. It is a very safe place to stay. We now live in Florida, however, we visited New Orleans for a very short period of time and went to the hotel to see what it was like. It appears the same and has history to it. I would recommend this hotel... you would be very happy with it.

We were married on the Steamboat Natchez and rented three rooms - a junior suite, a deluxe exterior and a regular interior room. All of the rooms were very nice, with the deluxe exterior (room 129) being the absolute best! The courtyard and surrounding areas, as well as the beautifully decorated staircase in the lobby made for GORGEOUS wedding photos! The front desk clerk was very accomodating in letting us take the photos with no advance notice and upon checkin, we received a chilled botlle of champagne and champagne flutes....much to our surprise! We have already made our reservations to return for our 1st anniversary and spend the weekend at Place d'Armes. :) If you want a true New Orleans feel that is well within walking distance of MANY great tourist attractions and restaurants, this is the place to be!

Room tip: The junior suite to the left of the courtyard is nice, but can be a bit noisy. Room 129 was very spacious and nice.
