If the personal touch is what you look for, this is the place for you. The front desk staff (Dionne) and bell team were outstanding. the location is very convenient, rooms clean and tidy. We will definately be back!

Room Tip: Take a room at the back in the court yard. Rooms at the front can be noisy.

The only place to stay in the French Quarters and really immerse yourself in the New Orleans experience! Everything is walking distance - Bourbon Street, Brennan's, sightseeing spots...Rooms were large with period decor. Quaint poolside courtyard! Wonderful staff.

We have stayed here several times in the past 6 years. We love the location. The Hotel is great the employees have always been good to us. So many things are just a few feet away. There is always something going on in Jackson Square. You are only 1 block form Royal the best antique stores and art shops. blocks from Bourbon Street.

Room Tip: If possible get a room with a balcony where you can see Jackson Square at least once. It is the grea...

My husband and I stay here every time we come to NOLA. The location is absolutely perfect, just off the corner of Chartres & St. Anne (Jackson Square!), and from there you can walk everywhere (let the valet park your car and leave it there, you won't need it until you leave!). We normally get a street-view balcony room, and often the wifi does not reach there, but for those few times I have to log in to get some work done during vacation the downstairs dining areas and courtyards are perfectly comfortable to do so! :) The rooms are beautiful, the balcony is perfect, and the staff are super-friendly and always ready with a recommendation on where to eat or what to see (and will usually offer to make you a reservation if something catches your fancy). The price is great, leaving you enough money to actually DO stuff in the 'Quarter :)) There's an ATM in the lobby, which is super convenient if you're headed to Cafe du Monde up the street! Cafe du Monde, Corner Oyster House, and Clover Grill (great breakfast!) are all within a very short walking distance of Place d'Armes, making it our ideal place to stay when we come to NOLA.

My wife and I stayed for two days in New Orleans at the Place d'Armes hotel (we had a weeklong cruise booked from there). It is the perfect spot from which to see The French Quarter; close to Bourbon Street, but far enough away to be quiet at night. Our room looked out on Chartres Street; it was a charming old-fashioned sort of room with big overstuffed furniture which seemed appropriate for the French Quarter. The room was clean; the reception (both arriving and leaving) was efficient and polite; there was a balcony and the breakfast was great. Our room required climbing a long staircase, so this particular room would not be good for someone with ambulatory problems (but there are plenty of other rooms served by elevator). The interior courtyard was in the old Spanish style, and a quiet place to take a breather or read a book. The only negative was the price (about $220/night including taxes), but I guess that that is what one has to expect in this district. We would certainly stay there again if/when we revisit New Orleans.

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking out on Chartres Street. It is the quiet side of the hotel.

Our first time staying at the Place D'Armes and we loved it. The hotel is perfectly located near Jackson square, Cafe Du Monde, Shopping, restaurants and walking distance to Frenchman's street which was a favorite for nightlife. I have been to NOLA a few times and already done the Bourbon st crazy scene and wanted to see different things and different areas. It was out first time to a Saints game and we could actually walk from the hotel, long walk but still okay. We stayed in October 2012 rates were very good and the hotel is just like in the pics. We had a 3rd level room with brick walls and was very clean although a little dated, it was still charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathroom is a little small but this is an old building so keep that in mind, it's charm out weighs the lacking of space and modern amenities. I would say my only complaints were, the breakfast wasn't much to brag about, just coffee, some croissants, muffins and danishes but what do expect for free and there was no free shuttle to and from hotel, it's about $33 for cab or shuttle. Overall, we would stay again since rates were very competitive. I heard it was supposed to be haunted but sadly we had no encounters. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: I hear there are rooms without windows, Well our window was facing out to the balcony walk way so we...
