While others appear to be disappointed with new management from new owners, I found my second stay for consecutive years at Jazz Fest to continue all the good qualities as before - of course minus the great guys who owned and operated it before. Funky yes, dirty no. Staff was very helpful and very pleasant. The "breakfast" is more a starter than a meal. Coffee was OK and plentiful. Meanwhile, you can walk to Louis Armstrong Park, walk to Frenchmen's and all over the Quarter. Catch the bus out the door to Jazz Fest, and walk back if the bus is jammed.
Nothing fancy here and for the price it's worth it for those looking for a safe and sane location at the edge of the Treme footsteps from everywhere in the Quarter. The new folks seem to be making a real effort to maintain the good qualities. I hope they tune it up a little with some touches and don't try to change it too much.
