only stayed a night, but thought the room was only slightly less comparable to the much higher-priced roosevelt, where we stayed for three nights on the same trip. this had a better deal for the high season, and it was conveniently located, had nice staff, and the room was clean and attractive, if small.

Hotel staff was very courteous. Hotel was very clean, especially for NOLA as it is not the cleanest city, especially near Bourbon street. The Bar was small, and the female bar tender was nice, but she was very slow and seemed somewhat experienced, but not unacceptable for me. The location of the hotel is great. Everything is in walking distance. Even the superdome was in walking distance. The gym, while it was small, was very clean. The cleaning staff in the hotel was exceptional, they were always wiping down walls, elevators, windows, furniture, several times a day. There was a girl being trained, and I must say, you take notice when they are being taught how to clean to high expectations. The cleaning staff was by far the most memorable part of my stay, seeing them out in public eye, reassures gets a clean comforting stay! Kudos. Water by the elevators , also a nice touch, as it is needed with all the beverages one could entail and dryness after a long day of travel. Even the water dispensers were cleaned and refreshed with ice frequently. Valet and concierge, again, also exceptional and personable staff. The only downfall is the food at the conventions was not great, same thing everyday, limited choices and cold. The convention rooms were also freezing, and I know there was some HVAC problems, because there was staff trying to fix it during our breaks. I would recommend for adult leisure travel and business. The location was also great for parades as it was directly located near the entrance. I would not recommend staying with children, but overall a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Bourbon street- otherwise your view will be of other building.

My wife and I needed a quick getaway (sans kids!) and though New Orleans could be fun. We stayed at the JW Marriott and it completely fit the bill. We were warmly welcomed a day before our arrival through email (a nice, personal touch). Upon arrival, they allowed to get early check in and even upgraded our room. The location was perfect for walking to the Quarter as well as hopping on the streetcar to get to Uptown. The hotel was lively enough, but not loud. Room and bed were comfortable and clean. The workout facilities were top notch and the Executive Center breaKfast was perfect for starting the day . Special kudos to Jacob (front desk), Andrew (executive lounge) and George (lounge bartender). They all helped make our three day getaway perfect. We would certainly return to this hotel!

Don't miss this place! When we checked in even the bell boy went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. The entire staff shows great pride in their hospitality and it is contagious. Small details are important such as placing by the front door a large container of cold water bottles for guests. Because we were celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary we were upgraded to a nice corner room with a great view. There was also a chilled bottle of champagne and two nice champagne glasses in the room. We were able to use the concierge lounge so we were entertained every morning by Pauline, a retired airline stewardess who still maintains her manner and knows more about New Orleans than most tour guides (her history major). In the evening Tom, also a super personable retired airline steward, served delicious full meals and manned the honor system bar. We also don't want to overlook Gracie who checked us in and made sure everything was more than satisfactory. The valet service by Albert and William was fantastic. If the concierge was busy either one of them could provide guidance and recommendations. Although this JW is not as fancy as some others and the swimming pool is small, the location and proximity to the French Quarter and the streetcar system makes it a great place to stay. And the staff will make sure you forget about minor distractions such as age of the building or searching for the arrival entrance, by making you feel special, putting a smile on your face and providing super memories long after you have left.

Room Tip: Try to get an upgrade to a corner room and of course the higher the floor the better. Do not miss th...

we chose this for a holiday visit and already our service is subpar. Nothing to eat, they closed an on site restaurant early nd did not inform guests. This is a sign of lack of follow through. We now have nothing to eat except pricey ridiculous room service menu.
Our coffee bar was not restocked and we had to call to have more brought up. It came from the doorman. Embarrassing.
Here less than a day and we do not recommend. Not a full service hotel. Same crappy quarter stuff. Do not stay here.

Room Tip: We have no clue. We have seen no one but a maid on our floor.

The hotel is located in the Canal st, which is probably the safest neighborhood in the city. Rooms are good, but there was a strange smell that took me time to get used to. There was a conference in the hotel, so that may explain why it was so hard to be served at the bar.

If you are Platinum, booking a room over the weekend, staying here is not advised. All of the Marriotts that I stay in (160 nights a year) offer breakfast to Platinum members over the weekend when the concierge lounge is closed, but not this one.

They have lost my business as a Marriott Elite.

Dear Wayne0301,

Thank you for posting your comments regarding the Executive Lounge. We are sorry that you were disappointed in the closure of our lounge on the weekend. We are one of the few exempt hotels in the Marriott Brand that are not required to offer breakfast in lieu of our lounge being closed. We do however offer 1,000 bonus points per night as an alternative benefit, along with the $10 Food and Beverage Credit as a benefit for all of our Platinum Elite guests. The additional points are intended to off-set closure of our lounge on the weekends. Please contact me directly if you have any addition questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
