“Great hotel”
Reviewed October 5, 2009

What a great short vacation, New Orleans is a great place to visit. The people are friendly, the food is just great, Coconut rum mojitos at the Red Fish Grill are to die for.

The Roosevelt is newly rebuilt and is sumptuous in every department. The King Superior room has a hugely comfortable bed, a nice little living area with sofa and large screen TV, (there is even a TV in the bathroom !!!!)

People watch in the Sazerac Bar then indulge yourself with dinner in the Sazerac Restaurant - try the bread pudding, it is to die for.

We recently visited the Roosevelt for the big engagement party. The huge lobby was the most beautiful one I have seen in a very long time. The staff was wonderful from our arrival to our departure. We had the privilege of staying in the luxurious Waldorf Suite. The suite was huge with a full dining area, bar, large bedroom and bathroom and a breathtaking view. This was perfect because after the cocktail party that we held in the courtyard the first night of our stay, we were able to comfortably entertain our 40 early guests in our suite. On the second night, our 175 person event was held in the ballroom, which was decorated beatifully and the staff and service were wonderful and efficient. The evening was absolutely magical and one we will all remember forever.

The pool is outside on the 4th floor. It was very tropical and although the bar up there had not yet been opened, we had no problems getting drinks brought to us quickly and repeatedly. The bar in the lobby is pretty live at night. After all, this is New Orleans...party, party, party. Stumbling in from Bourbon St, we were able to keep the party going in the bar.

All of the rooms are appointed with large HD TVs that appear to be very new. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were luxurious. We did not get the chance to visit any of the restaurants at the Roosevelt, but we did order room service on 2 occasions. Room service is available 24 hours and the food was delicious and the service was fast.

All in all, this is a wonderful and classy hotel. I was also pleasantly surprised by the room rates and charges for parties. They are very reasonable without compromising the service level you would expect from a Waldorf Astoria hotel. They are also very accomodating to elderly people and those with special needs. That was a big plus. If you have a special event that you want to be magical, I would highly recommend the Roosevelt. If you want to come to New Orleans to party or relax, you can't miss with this hotel either. Remember to book in advance because I have a feeling that this gem is going to stay booked.

The hotel was great. My wife and I when to New Orleans to just get away and have fun. This was the perfect place for us to come too. The hotel was very classy. The staff was very helpful and nice. the room was clean and maintain. The best thing about for me was the T.V in the bathroom. ( It is football season you know.) The showers was my wife fav. It had four showers heads. It also had a nice size t.v in the main. If you are going to New Orleans, you should stay here. P.S. Parking at the hotel is 38 dollars a night.
