Wonderful hotel, staff was friendly and so proud of their city and how it's bounced back. Great location! Walk to all sorts of restos and attractions.

If you are looking for the flavor of the French Quarter without the noise, this is the place for you! Loved the historical feel of the hotel. Was very quaint and comfortable. The only amenity I would have liked was a small refrigerator in the room. Otherwise, I will definitely stay at the Dauphine again the next time I am in NOLA. Thanks for a great experience!

Pros: XX-Large rooms, same rate for 4 people, so take advantage, free breakfast, free computer in Lobby, A/C works great, central location to reach Frenchmen Street, Jackson Square, and casino all on foot.

Cons: in my room the window faced a brick wall, slow elevator

As a former New Orleanian, I can't stay away very long. I just stayed here for the first time after trying out most Hotels on Canal and both W Hotels. I'll stay here every time from now. This Hotel is no frills, but who needs to pay for Hotel frills when you are in the French Quarter anyway! Can't beat the value, comfort, and convenience! Deja Vu Bar & Grill across the street has great cheap food and a killer jukebox and it never closes!

Aside from resident ghost, hard to come up with negatives. TV turned itself on every morning at 1:30 during our three night stay. When we complained to the Maintenance and front desk folks, we were told this was due to para-normal activities. They claim that they are a certified haunted place. The desk clerk will be happy to tell you about her ghost sightings.

Staff is friendly, Continental breakfast more than adequate. Bourbon Street around corner but middle of block location blocks most noise. Police were called to silence a very noisy argument on the street one night. Streetcars a few blocks away. Will return.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. It was close to the action, but quiet enough that we could sleep at night. We traveled to New Orleans for the food and we were never more than a walk away from world-class restaurants. (Which if you are thinking about going to New Orleans and are a foodie, stop what you're doing and book your trip. It was amazing on the food tip.)

The hotel had a pool in a cute courtyard, and we were gutted that it was just a bit too cold for a dip. There was a small gym with a treadmill, elliptical and TVs which was nice. Again, the location was killer.

The rooms were tidy, the beds were super comfy and the linens crisp. We even had terry robes! (We usually travel no-frills so it's the little things that excite us.) We snagged a room on the street side of the building with a small balcony (ask for one at booking) and LOVED grabbing a bottle of wine from one of the close wine shops and sitting on the balcony before heading out for dinner. We were only two stories up, so the view was nothing to write home about - but we just love watching cities go by.

The front desk staff were extremely helpful and the bartender at the bar was personable and awesome. When we go back to Nola (note I say, "when" - we love this town) we will definitely be staying here again. No questions. Value was great, location awesome, and rooms were just what we needed.

(Note: Foodies must go to Kitchen Witch - an AMAZING cookbook shop with even more amazing owners. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we ended up visiting it daily.)

Amazingly for being one block away from Bourbon Street, it's on a quiet street. Excellent location all around, just a few blocks from Canal Street as well. We really could not find any faults with this hotel. It's obviously an old hotel being in the middle of the Quarter but it's been completely renovated. Looks more like a Sheraton or Marriott in the passages and room areas. Has a nice bar and pool area too. We stayed in the main building so not sure what the part of the hotel over the road looks like.

Great staff, helpful, no problems at all with checkin or checkout. Free internet access in the lobby. Room was spotlessly clean. No problems with the bed or the bathroom, although drainage in the washbasin was a little slow. Not sure if it's the standard but self-serve breakfast was included and there were plenty of choices. Rate was reasonable compared to other hotels we've stayed in in the area.

We would definitely stay there again.
