“Fantastic Boutique Hotel !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2004

After reading reviews of all hotels in the French Quarter, we were prepared for anything. But the Dauphine Orleans was perfect from check-in to check-out. The employees are amazingly friendly, and extremely helpful. They helped plan all of our tours, which turned out to be the best ones the city has to offer. We had a SPOTLESS King room, which was huge (especially by French Quarter standards!) with 2 balconies, marble bathroom with double showerhead, filtered water dispenser, reasonably-priced wet bar, bathrobes, turn-down service, and 1 block off of Bourbon St. Beautiful pool in the courtyard, great breakfast. For $139 a night, we couldn't have asked for any better !

my husband and I stayed here from september 9th to the 14th and we loved it! (just barely missing hurricane ivan)...it is in a great location for easy walking to all the attractions within the quarter as well as a hop skip and a jump up to canal street to catch either the canal street streetcar or the st charles streetcar...the hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the staff are super nice and efficient... each morning our room was cleaned and our bed was turned down as well as each and every time we passed a staff member we were asked if everything was ok with our room or if we needed anything...even the guys down in the parking garage were super friendly and wished us a good evening each time we ventured out... the continental breakfast was ok nothing to brag about and consisted of cereals, pastries, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruits and juices..this is not by far a ritz carlton hotel and if that is what you are looking for i wouldn't suggest going here BUT if you are looking for a quaint, comfortable, clean, afforable, quiet hotel with a convienent location this would be the one! thanks dauphine for making our stay a memorable one!

LOVELY hotel, great city. Would absolutely stay here again. Jeffrey, the bartender, way too cynical for this beautiful town and it's people. Could have made our visit to May's much warmer. But everyone else more than made up for his attitude.
Highly recommended.

Our company stayed at the Dauphine Orleans while we were in town for the National Safety Council Expo - which was supposed to last from September 13th through the 15th, 2004. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short, thanks to Hurricane Ivan evacuations. However, our entire stay at this hotel was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool in the evening, the wireless internet access in the hotel lobby/pool area, and the hotel's fantastic location as well. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I just spent our 1-year-anniversary in New Orleans... We had a wonderful time, and in no small part thanks to the Dauphine Orleans! We had booked an online reservation, a budget res, and in our notes had asked for the best room the budget would allow (anniversary and all): well, despite it's being Southern Decadence and very busy, that meant a room with a beautiful balcony, and champagne delivered to the room upon arrival! We were very impressed, and touched: the service overall was simply outstanding. The room was kept clean, the bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the complimentary "enhanced Continental" breakfast kept me--for the first time in my many years of visits!--satisfied WITHOUT a Cafe Du Monde beignet and au lait for breakkie! My only complaint was the service in May Baily's place: I loved the bar, but at one point felt like I was intruding on the bartender's time when I went to order a drink while out at the pool. I am a bartender too, I know we all have off days (and times) but even so, it wasn't so easy to blow off. Despite this, I will absolutely stay at Dauphine Orleans again!

This hotel was great! We stayed there 2 weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The rooms are a little small but the extras made up for that. Huge comfortable bed with down pillows! Great free breakfast. Also, loved May Bailey's. Great little bar! The staff was excellent. SO NICE and gave us great tips on places to eat and visit. The free van service came in handy on those hot days. The hotel is only a block away from Bourbon but was very quiet. Overall, had a great stay and will recommend this hotel to our friends.

After visiting New Orleans twice before, the last time being for Mardi Gras in 2002, the French Quarter in mid-August seemed strangely empty. However, finding the Dauphine Orleans made the trip. Only one block north of Bourbon St, three or four blocks from the arts and antiques on Royal, and no more than seven blocks from Jackson Square and the riverfront, the DO's location is superb- and the beds are comfy as well. With continental breakfast, exercise room, morning paper at your door, and outdoor pool, plus parking available (for a price), this is the place to stay in the Quarter, and (at least in the off-season) the rates are very reasonable. Fair warning, though- Dauphine is a relatively quiet street, so if you're looking for the traditional New Orleans balcony entertainment, you're better served finding a room overlooking Bourbon.
