Great service, great location, great room. Everything about our hotel experience was fantastic. So much charm and the staff was very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.

In March I stayed for my second time at Dauphine Orleans in a year. It is really a fantastic hotel and well located. The hotel is basically 1-2 blocks off Bourbon Street but in a very quiet area. Note my review is of the Courtyard rooms they offer.

We once again stayed on the Courtyard side of the hotel - which is across the street from the main building. The room is spacious, seemingly larger due to its vault ceilings, and quite comfortable. The room had exposed old red brick on one wall and the king bed was very comfortable with quality linens. The sink area of the bathroom faces towards the bed with the toilet and shower behind a closed door - not a set-up I particularly liked but functional. The room has a mini-fridge, which is almost essential for a city like New Orleans. The room has two french doors that open into a very pleasant courtyard with a fountain.

The breakfast buffet is very basic but provides all the essentials. I have not used the pool either time I have stayed here but the pool seems to be active and pleasant, albeit a bit small.

Overall, from a value, location, and quality standpoint - Dauphine Orleans is one of the best things going in the city. Its a great base of operation for relaxing and touring the Big Easy.

My husband and I finally made our first trip to NOLA last week as part of a 2-week driving trip. The Dauphine Orleans had received good reviews on TripAdvisor and that, coupled with an incredible online rate, led us to believe this was the right place to stay in the French Quarter--and it was! Only one block away from Bourbon Street, it was close to clubs and restaurants but quiet and private and away from all the noise. The room was comfortable (although a refrigerator would have been helpful), the breakfast was more than adequate (the real china cups were a treat after a week of styrofoam at other places), and we enjoyed talking to the bartender at May Bailey's about the history of the bar and the hotel. Since it was a quick trip, we didn't get to spend much time hanging around the courtyard and the pool, but I would have liked to. (Next time!) The down side? Too far to walk to the French Market and Jackson Square in the heat and humidity. So we drove and parked in public parking--which is free if you spend $25 in the Market. All in all, a delightful experience!

If you want to stay close to French Quarter activity, yet have a peaceful retreat with old-time New Orelans charm, this is the place for you. The staff is welcoming & accommodating. If you don't require all the nuances of a modern facilty - you'll love this place. The bar/lounge is an unexpected retreat and the courtyard(s) are well tended. Walking distance to Bourbon Street, Trolley lines, and great music, shopping and people watching.

Room Tip: coffee maker, but no microwave. closet, but limited dresser space

Last week of March 2011.

My hubby and I decided it was about time we visited NOLA! So I spent about 3 weeks reaching and reading reviews about the city, where to stay, where to eat, what to do, etc. I decided on the Dauphine Orleans Hotel...The Herman House....because of some of the great reviews I read. All i can say is that we LOVED LOVED LOVED our room and the whole vibe of the Herman House (its across the street from the actual hotel...very safe and private). I requested room on the 2nd floor (#238 to be exact) and away from the street. It was perfect. After a long drive from Ohio, our check-in was a breeze thanks to Becky at the reception desk. As as soon was we crossed the street to the Herman House, we knew me made the right choice. We loved the exposed wood and brick on the inside of our room. Really gave it a cool feel. Our room was very clean, smelled great and was quite and dark. Loved it!!!!! The bed was SUPER Comfy...no joke! The complimentary breakfast was very good. The onsite parking garage was a nice feature and Paul in the garage was awesome! He always asked if we needed directions, told us to have a good time, asked us how or days was when we returned. Truly a great guy!

All in All....we truly enjoyed our NOLA trip. We spent 4 days total in the French Quarter....we walked around everywhere. The hotels location is PERFECT. Close to everything but far enough away so that the chaos and noise don't follow you home at night. :-0

Check out my pictures and all my other reviews about our trip (places we ate, things we did, etc.).

Room Tip: Stay in the Herman House....2nd Floor...Away from street!!!!!!

Spent the weekend in New Orleans for my birthday. We stayed at Dauphne Orleans and it was great. The beds are comfortable and the location is close enough to walk to everything without the noise of bourbon street. Small but very nice hotel

Totally loved the Dauphine. Cozy, romantic, great service. Nicely decorated rooms, nice pool area, romantic courtyards and gardens and a terrific bar. One street off Bourbon but you would never know it. Peaceful. Rooms across the main building which I got to see are even more secluded with exposed bricks and wooden beamed ceilings with an even more private courtyard. Perfect place for a honeymmon or a romantic getaway. Good for business too as well located.
