Maison Bourbon is one of my favorite jazz clubs in NOLA. Not many left on Bourbon Street but this is perfect. I go the night Jamil Shariff and his band play. He is a great Jazz musician and professor at Tulane. He plays every night escept Tuesday and Wednesday. True old style Jazz. from the standards to the ecelctic. He has his horn, clarinet, piano, dum and bass. He also sings and will do sing a long versions of When the Saits Go Marching In. He also sings and plays a great version of What a Wonderful World. Why wait on line, and pay a cover for a 45 minute set at Preservation Hall. Much better here.

One drink minimum per set is fairly standard, but these drinks were all ice. Stick with something they can't water down, like a beer. Musicians are excellent, so the jazz was good.

Came late so we only heard two songs but they were lovely. I miss the jazz on Bourbon St from 20 years ago. Now it is all seedy bars with horrible bands playing terrible renditions of 80's & 90's music. That is NOT what Bourbon Street should be but it is just the big tourist trap and will probably stay that way. It's too bad. This club may have wait staff that is rude and doesn't even have the time for you but to take your money but at least they still have jazz! (yes, that means a rude wait staff)

Looking for Dixieland Jazz - you know the kind of place you think of when you think of the Bourbon Street Scene ( at least what you hope it will be)? Look no further. Great music, attentive wait staff, an escape from the crazy street night life for a look at NOLA of 20 years ago.

Just drop in and you are entertained by some of the finest jazz in NO. There are at least two different artists/combos a night and they can lay down some sound. The drinks are reasonable and the staff is attentive, but not pushy. The sign does say 'one drink per set', but it was loosely enforced. Low key atmosphere - just some really fine music.
