“Spend a day on Royal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Just a block over from Bourbon is Royal and it's like a different world. We spent the day strolling down Royal, ducking into many of the antique shops and art galleries. There is something for everyone and every budget. The street musicians take shopping to a new level with different performances on each block. And of course there are several restaurants where you can stop in for a bite to eat of grab a go cup and keep shopping!

“Great Art Galleries”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

If you tire of dirty Bourbon Street head a couple streets down to Royal Street for the beautiful art galleries, antique shops and street shows. Tip: Do NOT stroll down this street at night. It is very dark and dangerous. The stores are not open. Stay on the most crowded streets for safety)

“An interesting walk among the old buildings.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

We walked on Royal Street on our way to Brennan's. It was interesting to see the old buildings, but disappointing to see how much they are in disrepair. The street itself is in need of cleaning. We figured it was because of Mardi Gras, but I think it's a general condition regardless of what's going on. The French Quarter is like a beautiful woman who's gotten old and hasn't refreshed her makeup. It's sad because it could be such a beautiful place.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Like a giant out door party with out the drunk fools on bourbon. Some of my favorite places to eat are on Royal. Cafe Amile, Royal oyster house and Cafe beniegh.

Walk down here for a different experince and you will love it.
