just like I've always dreamt NoLA would be! Bourbon street is too touristy. Royal Street is the street where you are more likely to see a crowd watching a great jazz band playing in the street, while passersby spontaneously break out dancing.

Best street in NOLA. Antiques are high priced, art is fantastic and well priced. Friendly gallery owners/staff.

We went to New Orleans around Christmas time and this street is the way I imagined Bourbon to be. It was all lit up for Christmas with musician's playing Christmas music every once in awhile (i was hoping for more) . There were over priced art galleries and antique shops every 3 feet and it really gave that charm to the French Quarter I was exspecting. Stay away from Bourbon come to Royal.

This was my favorite street, I took us down it several times because I loved it so much! The Christmas decorations were amazing, both in the storefronts and on the homes and hotels. The shops are really interesting and we'll definitely visit them more thoroughly when we don't have the kids with us!
