“Mike Hood The Piano Man”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Mike Hood made my friends night. We were wandering back to our hotel late one night... as usual, and heard the piano calling us from Lafitte's. My friend is a rather huge Tom Waitts fan, and upon request Mike played a couple tunes for him that would warm any Waitts fan's heart... Kudo's to Mike Hood... you rock!

“Good stop while walking around”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Stopped here in the afternoon and some sort of purple rum drink. Was sweet but good and the day was hot so it went quick. Place is very old but historic and worth visiting.

“Very Cool Bar!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

One of the oldest bars in the US. When my husband told me the history of this place I appreciated it even more. The atmosphere is very cool. Its dark and lit by candles. I loved it!

“Different and fun”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is the oldest bar in the country and it's still lit by candlelight. It's a neat little house and has a great history as well. It's a little quieter than the bars further down on Bourbon, which I liked.

“A quieter part of Bourbon Street...fewer yahoos”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Great people watching--a blend of gay and straight patrons! We were there during Halloween, and it was a fun place to get a drink and watch the world go by. Loads of character.
