Lafayette Cemetery is one of the smaller cemeteries, but a nice walk nonetheless. You can hire guides that will pass on all the history of the place.

We missed this cemetary because we were unaware it closed at 2:30. Be aware of closing times of the various cemetaries. As we peered through the locked gate, it looked very interesting.

We took a tour with Free Tours By Foot through the garden district, which included the Lafayette Cemetery. It's is eerily beautiful, and sad how much of it is in disrepair.

This is in the garden district of new Orleans, across from Commander Palace restaurant. We walked it ourselves until Marcus gave us a 10 minute tour. We learned a lot about the cementary (it's still active!). Good place to visit.

The above ground grave sites were interesting to see. We wandered through the cemetery and checked it all out. I wish I had done some research on potential interesting graves/history before going.
