We stayed on decatur st. Was told this place was to far to walk the cab only charged us 13$ for 4 ppl and we got the st. Car back which was in view of cemetery ..should have got a cab back also ... IT was hot and way to many ppl on st car.. Other than that place was safe to walk around alone during the day this one is in the garden district area... Was very interesting our phone camera was acting up had never done that before looked tripy when trying to focus ... Lots of very old graves ! I liked it :)

We took this tour before and after Katrina. Sad that so much damage was done, but still worth the visit. Do not visit this cemetery unless you are in a large group-thieves wait for small groups or couples as there are so many places to hide. Bring water!! It's rather a long walking tour.

Of course, tips are appreciated. But, well worth it- great cemetery stories as well as good New Orleans tips. It is so interesting to walk around. You just have t do this while in NOLA.

I suppose to some people visiting a cemetery is strange - this is a tranquil, peaceful place although quite busy with tourists, some graves had war medals left on top which was quite emotional.

This is one of the best historical landmarks I have ever seen. Definitely worth the stop! The tombs are above ground and are huge. I have never seen a cemetery like this before so this was definitely a NEW experience.
