We visited this cemetery as part of a walking tour. We enjoyed seeing an authentic New Orleans cemetery, like what you often see in the movies. Our guide said this was the cemetery used in the movie Double Jeopardy.

It's located in the garden district, which is a great place to visit anyway -- great restaurants and gorgeous old homes.

Close to the cemetery is a bookstore and cafe with tasty treats.

The cemetery is often closed on Sundays, though not always. To play it safe, go M - Saturday.

One of the few cemeteries above ground because of the problem with low ground and water problems. It is on the tourist list and has an interesting history. Worth a visit because of it's local significance.

This needs to be part of your tour to New Orleans if history interests you. There are some very interesting people resting here, all above ground.

Did the cemetary tour as part of the Garden District tour. Very interesting information worth a visit however if you dont take a tour your basically just walking around looking at tombs. I highly suggest taking a paid tour.

We went here on our own and just walked around. It closes relatively early, so you want to go in the daytime before dark. Fascinating to see all the above ground burials and interesting to read. Would love to do a tour, but good even for a walk through. The pavement was pretty rough, so you need to watch your step.
