It's always a good idea to get there early and get a seat where you can see the band. The main floor is excellent. The top floor works best if you are right no the rail. There are obstructed views up top.
The music is always top notch. Sometimes famous musicians but even if you have no idea how the artist is, whoever books that place knows what they are doing. I've been there a dozen times and always been impressed by the passion and musicianship of everyone on stage.

Snug Harbor is the relative to Port of Call on Esplanade Ave. But Snug is a step up! I’ve been going here for years and started out getting their giant burger with a fully dressed baked potato. Since then they have added seafood dishes and typical NOLA dishes, but I always go with the burger. The tropical drinks are killer and definitely get you feeling good. Watch out though, they are easy to go down and can sneak up on you! The jazz club upstairs is a great venue for some real jazz and local talent. Check out the schedule before heading out and buy tickets ahead of time if you want to attend the concert. Snug is also just down the street from all the music clubs on Frenchman. So enjoy a meal and great drinks and go to a concert or go to another music club. You won’t have to go further than 1or 2 blocks.

Returned to Snug Harbor for another musical event, this time including dinner. Dinner was great and all in our group of 5 satisfied. Planned on seeing Ellis Marsalis, a regular on Friday nights. Due to a last minute change, he was not available, but the band was still terrific. Most members had played with Ellis in the past and they performed a lot of the tunes he used in his performances. They were all terrific. As usual, Snug Harbor did not disappoint!

6 of us visited on Sunday St Patricks Day as Philip Manuel was playing that evening.
We decided to save time and have dinner at Snug Harbor as the parade was passing by as well. Thank God the jazz (which WAS terrific) wasn't as bad as the food! The best part of the dinner were the baked potatoes that accompanied the burgers, need I say more. We were actually warned NOT to eat there but didn't heed the advice. My bad!
