Owner description: Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest bike tour company. Going on 10 years of great tours and great customers keeping us feeling like the luckiest folks in New Orleans every day when we come to work. The tour that started them all and our others, the Culinary, the History of Drinking and our combined Pedal to Paddle with our friends at Kayakityat. New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its other historic neighborhoods on the Creole side of Town, the beautiful Faubourg Marignyand Bywater; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old streets and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like (water or nothing are also fine choices). For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our our city like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles. One speed, slow.

We took the culinary tour and at first we were a little skeptical that the tour would take us only to typical touristy places. We couldn't have been more wrong. Our tour guide Cassidy (and creator of the tour) put his lifetime in New Orleans to good use and showed us northerners a great deal of southern charm and hospitality. The places we went and the food we sampled were experiences we could never have found on our own. The food was authentic and the hospitality was gracious. The pace of the tour was appropriately lazy and the biking in between stops kept the blood flowing. We would not hesitate to take another tour from this group again.

This review is long overdue, but better late than never. This is one of the best tours I have ever been on. Cassidy is amazing history teller and seems to know everyone in the area with people shouting hello to him out of their cars when driving by our tour. His history knowledge is so great and tells it in such an interesting way. I felt like we were taken to the real new orleans, with him showing us all of the locals places. We stopped at a couple of bars along with the way, which made the tour even more fun! And even headed back to one of them that night for some local jazz music.
You have to do this tour when you go to New Orleans. The only regret we had was that we waited until one of our last days to do the tour.

Wonderful tour! Lara was a born story teller, and we loved her stories and the tour. Good focus on safety and felt fine to ride in the French Quarter, even with lots of traffic and construction. Nice cocktails and good value. Will recommend and would do again. Tomorrow (if we weren't flying home)!.

Recently returned from our first trip down to NOLA and LOVED every second of it, including the bike tour. Jeff was our guide, native New Orleanian, he was so interesting to listen to. Had such a vast knowledge of local history along with lots of interesting and quirky facts. The bikes are very comfortable, the tour is slow paced and easy to keep up. Great way to spend a few hours. Jeff also gave us some recommendations for an awesome horn band that was playing on Frenchman, which we loved as well.

We will definitely be back to do the Culinary or Drinking tour.

Great way to spend the day and really see the other side of New Orleans. Our guide Cassidy was a local from NO, very friendly and quite knowledgable, and brought us to four local eating spots that the average tourist would never know about. Lots of local and historical information and had the best fried chicken at Dizzy's along with real home made Gumbo with crab, andouille, tasso and chicken...all I can say is wow, you gotta try this little place! Also visited Liuzzas, a little bar and grill for great barbecue shrimp, not the type covered with brown barbecue sauce, but lots of butter, garlic and great flavor, a real local treat. Then off to Brocato for home made Gelato, and the final stop at Parkway Bakery and Tavern for geniune local Po'Boys. By this point we were too full to eat more than a taste or two, but well worth the stop. The roads were flat and easy to ride and even made you think that you worked off most of the calories! This is a great tour, you won't be dissapointed!
