Owner description: Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest bike tour company. Going on 10 years of great tours and great customers keeping us feeling like the luckiest folks in New Orleans every day when we come to work. The tour that started them all and our others, the Culinary, the History of Drinking and our combined Pedal to Paddle with our friends at Kayakityat. New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its other historic neighborhoods on the Creole side of Town, the beautiful Faubourg Marignyand Bywater; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old streets and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like (water or nothing are also fine choices). For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our our city like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles. One speed, slow.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans. Jeff, the tour guide and owner, was super knowledgable and friendly. He led us through neighborhoods on the comfy bikes and had many interesting stories and tidbits along the way. Everyone in our group of 6 loved this and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting this great city. Thanks again Jeff!

“See the real New Orleans!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

This is a great way to get off the tourist track in this city. I did two of their tours while I was there, the Original Creole Tour and the Ninth Ward Tour. Both were great. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, the bikes were comfortable and both tours included a good mix of sights. The bike riding was not difficult at all - in fact I managed to take quite a few pictures with my camera while riding! The guides were also great at providing recommendations for other things to do in the city, including sites and restaurants.

The Creole tour focused on several neighborhoods just east of the French Quarter and covered the history of the city, architecture, and a number of things you probably wouldn't learn on a regular city tour.

Although I really enjoyed both tours, I think the Ninth Ward one was my favorite! It was so interesting to see this neighborhood. The people there were very friendly - one even invited our entire group into his house for an impromptu tour! We also saw the House of Dance and Feathers which was great, Fats Domino's house and tried some local food including pickled pig lips (not recommended). The tour covered Katrina of course, but also includes a whole lot more.

“will "ride" for Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

Highly recommend -We enjoyed the 4 hour culinary bike tour...with Cassidy as our guide. Either portion - the riding or the eating - would have been worth the time and expense. IF Bourbon Street is not your "cup of tea" ( or alcohol as it would be !) you will see a fantastic side of New Orleans on this tour. Lots of history, local culture and possibly some folklore included. Comfortable bikes with coaster brakes. Very nice sampling of several different types of food unique to the area at great places the locals know and love. We booked by phone text and paid with a bank check( they also accept cash). Thanks to Cassidy ( and his hippy Mom!)

“Good Way to Learn About the City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

Our guide (Keith) was extremely informative, interesting and accommodating. We did encounter some rain during the tour, but we were able to dodge most of the downpour by ducking into a local bar for a few minutes. The bikes are simple "cruisers", but appeared to be in good repair.

I did this tour today, and i have to say im totally overjoyed with my experience. From the initial booking all the way through to the actual tour i found the company a delight to deal with. The tour guide lead an amazing tour through areas of New Orleans that you would never normally get to see. A must for anyone coming to this city.
