“Battle of New Orleans”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

My family enjoyed our trip to the National Park. The Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans was taking place. So there was plenty of re-enactments, and activities for the family to enjoy. The Park Rangers where very informational also. A must see sit in New Orleans for families.

“Great History War of 1812”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

History buffs...a must see while in New Orleans. We happened on the day that they were having demonstrations and the mansion was decorated on the inside with three different time periods. Nicely done! Thank you historical portrayers, well done! Be sure and visit the National Cemetery next to the Park. You will need to access it from the main road Hwy. 46

“Very moving historical site”
Reviewed December 20, 2013 via mobile

We have gone to New Orleans for years, but have never visited the park. Very knowledgeable Park Ranger, but unfortunately the Visitors Center was closed. It's closed on Sunday & Monday. If time allow, visit the old Cemetery just minutes across the battle fields. Approx. 17,000 soldiers lay at rest here.

“cool short films”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

2 short films on front and back of a partition in the visitors' center/museum show the historic battle of the war of 1812 (actually 1814) that saved our country from British. Ironically, the film on the back side from the British perspective seems more informative than that at the front from the American side. Little outside remains for the canal that played such an important role.

“Great National Treasure”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

The last battle of the War of 1812 was fought here at Chalmette National Battlefield. Just take a Creole Queen Mississippi River cruise and your stop at Chalmette is included. Real knowledgeable Park Rangers and a recently completed Visitors Center will be highlights of your visit. If time allow, visit the old Cemetery just minutes across the fiels.
