Renee was excellent, especially considering how large our group was. The architecture & history of this part of NOLA is quite interesting (by the end, I'd taken so many photos - looking back 2 days later, I can't remember which was the Mannings', which was Bullock's, which was whose, but all interesting!). Lots of good history, beautiful homes, fascinating cemetery...great tour, Renee, thanks!

These homes are just amazing. These people must have more money than even I can imagine, and that is a whole lot. We just walked and walked in amazement at the size of these homes as well as the beautiful architecture. There are so many wonderful little shops and restaurants in this area as well that it could be a visit to the New Orleans area all by itself.

Recommend staying in quiet Garden District which is away from the noise and busyness of the French Quarter but has plenty of shopping and dining choices nearby. Surroundings are of beautiful restored period homes and unkept yards.

Take the trolley to the District. Great way to see more of the neighborhood as you travel. Commanders Palace is located in this area as well as an above ground cemetery. The homes are southern architecture. Wear comfortable footwear. Commanders Palace has a dress code. No shorts or t shirts. Reservations are highly suggested.

We loved strolling through the Garden district. Morning is best, even when it is cooler weather. The houses are beautiful, even more so with someone who knows the history of the district and the homes. Recommend a guided walking tour.
