“Pretty Homes & different from french quarter”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

My husband and I enjoyed visiting the Garden District. It is easy to get to using the bus or trolley system. Take a guided tour so you know what you are seeing, but take some extra time just to stroll around this gorgeous area.

“Nice Houses”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

There were some very nice houses. Get a guided tour that will be able to help you with the neighborhood.

“Beautiful as ever”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

I've been going to the Garden District off and on for a decade and a half and it just gets lovelier all the time. But visitors should be encouraged to stroll farther toward the river into Uptown, the modest but beguiling neighborhood through which Ignatius O'Reilly rides daily in John Kennedy Toole's wonderful novel, "A Confederacy of Dunces." Go to Domilese's on Annunciation Street for the best po'boys in New Orleans and total NO atmosphere.

“Christmas and Mansions”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Beautiful Homes and they were all decked out for the Holidays! We visited quickly on a "City Tour" and rode the trolley car back the next day for a slower ride and to get on and off as desired. All day ticket for trolley is only $3.00 and goes almost everywhere you want to go.

“Garden Walking tour a must!”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

We visited in October, and with a downloaded walking tour in hand, took a cab to the start of our walk. Not far from the shops there. Walked about the houses and visited the cemetary, then shopped a bit in the bookstore there, which is a good one.
Then we took the St. Charles streetcar back to Canal. Very interesting!
