We visited the Garden District which is really quite different, lots of huge Victorian Style homes and this is actually the day we walked through about 4 miles of homes and Donald decided he'd like to live in New Orleans!

We walked through about half of the Garden District & I would reccomend touring the area in this manner to anyone who chooses to go there. It gives you a chance to stop & view the homes at your leasure, although it doesn't allow quite as much viewing. We only managed to see about half of it & will return another time to tour the rest of it. The homes there are truelly beautiful & worth the exercise, to see them up close.

it was so nice to walk through the streets and see all of the old houses. They are so beautifully preserved, truly enjoyed the afternoon strolling around.

There were some nice upscale shops in this area as well as some very fancy houses and a Fresh Market. We didn't have the chance to try any restaurants, but we did encounter a jazz funeral procession.

We just stepped off the St. Charles trolley and started walking. First stop was the "Fresh Market" grocery. We popped in and grabbed a bit of fresh fruit and a cup of coffee. We continued our journey south to Magazine Street. Full of shops, restaurants, and pubs let the college kids have Bourbon Street, us adults will hang out on Magazine Street! We then headed north to see the Lafayette Cemetery (Note: cemetery closes at 2pm). Beautiful tree lined streets, unique homes, and peaceful scenery made this area a site I want to visit again and again.
