“Must See”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

There aren't many churches that match the beauty of some churches in Europe, but this is the closest we've seen in North America. Interesting history, beautiful frescos and stained glass. It is a must see and important to thank God for blessings.

Was a wonderful site, and peaceful. Gift shop is small and crowded when busy but completely worth it.

St. Louis Cathedral is stunning, and the area around it is typically filled with people. A must see when you are visiting New Orleans.

“quiet retreat”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

oldest cathedral in louisiana. pleasant break from the hustle and busle of the fr. quater. located next to jackson square. coulden't figure out which french king was made a saint during the crusades illustrated in the stained glass murals, but they were spectacular. organ music provided a solemn atmosphere.

“Wonderful Ash Wednesday”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is a beautiful Roman Catholic cathedral in the French Arts district of New Orleans adjacent to the banks of the Mississippi. We enjoyed a terrific mass at the cathedral on Ash Wednesday. The art painted on the ceilings is fantastic, the architecture is well worth the hike from the French Quarter and the history is rich with the first cathedral being built in this location in 1720. Catholic or otherwise, this is well worth seeing (and it's free to visit). The surrounding neighborhood is nice, with good dessert shops and great walking streets.
