We have done this 3 times and it Never disappoints. We always have fun, laugh, learn and leave with cooking ideas and full bellies. Learning the history of the area and how food was born from the settlers and how our history has shaped our cuisine in both Creole and Cajun is fascinating. Never boring and lunch prepared during class, it is well worth going to bed early the night before so you can participate in class. We will be doing it again on the next trip!

A trip to New Orleans wouldn't be right if I don't get to NOSOC. The staff cooks are more than outstanding chefs, they are entertaining story tellers and cultural educators. I have been going there yearly since 2002 and have brought anyone traveling with me for a most enjoyable and satisfying meal. Their pralines are my favorites of the many choices one has in New Orleans. I look for forward to my next visit.

We were looking for something to do while staying down town. Taking one of their cooking classes was the best decisions we've ever made. Learning a little history of of Louisiana and learning how to cook Gumbo, Jambalaya and Pralines was wonderful. And to eat this food- totally YUMMY!
We have come home and made these recipes over and over. Who knew that when we made the choice to go to the New Orleans School of Cooking that we would not only have some great food, but memories to last forever.
And yes- if we (no when we) go back to New Orleans- we will be taking another class! It was that good.

If you are in New Orleans you need to find this shop and take the cooking class! Not only do you get to sample the great food they prepare as teaching you how to cook it, but the class is VERY entertaining. Lots of local history and tidbits. Guys...don't think you won't enjoy this cooking class. You will!!! I could go each and every time we are in NOLA :)

Took a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking....it was wonderful!! Enjoyed our chef, she made the class fun as well as informative. I have returned home making Pralines, Gumbo and Jambalaya for the family. I highly recomment this experience when you go to New Orleans.
