We visited on a Saturday and were treated to an excellent display by a group of acrobats providing street entertainment. Well worth watching if you get the chance. As for the area itself some very good architecture.

Jackson square on itself is a wonderful landmark in New Orleans, but what surroundings!. The French Quarter, the "Flea Market", good restaurants and beer/wine and seafood places.
My daughter did love it!

Lots to do in the area, but people watching is probably one of my favorite things! The street artists, performers/musicians are always entertaining.

Very clean park across the street from Mississippi River. Great view of St. Louis cathedral. Dozens of local artists display their works along fence of park...great place to obtain a one-of-a-kind souvenir of New Orleans.

Filled with artists and street entertainers, Jackson Square is the heart of Quarter.

Unfortunate that so many homeless are everywhere; detracts from a visitor’s experience. The City needs to address helping these people to find suitable shelters.

Something is always happening in Jackson Square. Love the artists & street performers. Cool, museum just off the square as well as Muriel's Restaurant.

Things to do in the square:
Get a carriage ride/tour around town
Browse local artwork from street vendors
Get a beignet at Cafe DuMonde and listen to fabulous street musicians while you wait
Visit the cathedral
Browse the shops surrounding the square
Cross the street to look at the river and bridge

Great when a jazz band is playing. Fun to 'People Watch'! Beautiful view of the cathedral. Interesting to see the NOLA lifestyle.

A place to visit, have photographs taken and promenade. It is very pretty and picturesque. A good photograph can be taken from across the road near the river, because there is a pathway on top of the levy, that gives you a good perspective. Another good shot is near the statue of General Jackson.
