“Good place to relax soaking up the atmosphere!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

A lovely open square with a statue of Andrew Jackson mounted on his horse, in the middle. The cathedral behind with impromptu jazz played in the street. Across the road the famous Cafe du Monde with its chicory coffee and dusted beignets. A busy bustling area worth spending time to chill.

“Classic”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

This square is the classic view that you often see of NOLA. It is a bit touristy, but I still thought it was beautiful. You can easily walk from Jackson Square to many of the other French Quarter sites. Amazing trees.

“Iconic, historic, and beautiful”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Jackson Square is, I suppose, a gateway of sorts to the French Quarter. And what a gateway. The impressive statue of Andrew Jackson. Magnificent landscaping. The grandeur of St. Louis Cathedral as a backdrop. Church bells ringing. Street musicians of all genres playing nearby. Mule drawn carriages clop clop clopping along on Decatur Street. Sit on one of the park benches and revel in a quintessential New Orleans moment. If you happen to have a sack of beignets with you, even better. And, it is even more special at night, when everything is lit up. Best of all, it's free. Enjoy!
