Owner description: Located in historic Uptown New Orleans Audubon Zoo offers an exotic mix of animals from around the globe, engaging educational programs, hands-on animal encounters and lush gardens. Unique natural habitat exhibits—such as the award-winning Louisiana Swamp and Jaguar Jungle—showcase the relationship between people and nature. Don't miss the daily animal presentations, chats and feeds; our highly endangered whooping cranes, Amur leopards and orangutans; our white tiger; and our mysterious white alligators. Audubon Zoo is often ranked among the country’s best for innovation and entertainment value!

We enjoyed our day out at the zoo, it was a hot day but there was plenty of places to buy drinks and there were lots of shady areas. Felt a little disappointed that not all the animals were on display but still had a great selection (gorillas, elephants, white tiger ect). and for the price of the tickets I thought the dinosaur exhibit should have been included rather then extra! We loved our day here.

Very nice zoo. The grounds were clean. Even though it was hot the zoo has a lot of shade which was nice. There is plenty of places for drinks, ice cream and food. Good place to take a slow day and enjoy it with the animals.

I love zoos but this one did not make much of an impression. It seems like there weren't as many animals as I expected. It is nicely laid out though.

My wife has been patiently waiting to visit a zoo for some time, so I figured I'd take her to Audubon. We were both very pleased with the zoo. Admission prices were fairly reasonable, as were the food prices (expectedly priced, anyway). Parking was ample and free, which is always a plus.

The exhibits were all fantastic with most of the animals being fairly active. The zoo was pretty crowded, but we were still able to see all of the exhibits without too much effort. The open areas tend to be fairly vast without much direction to other exhibits, so be sure to pick up a map.

Also, this might be obvious to others but it wasn't for me . . . If you're going to purchase an Audubon Experience ticket, be aware that the aquarium and zoo are at different locations when you're planning for times, etc.

This is a fairly small zoo, but truly one of the best in the country. I love to take the street car down St. Charles from Canal Street and get off at the entrance to the park and walk through to the zoo, but you can also drive directly to the zoo and park in the parking lot. It is a very well kept zoo, with lots to see. It isn't an all day trek, but do take at least 1/2 day to really see (and hear) all the sights and sounds.
