It is truly a fantastic scene where they put together those enormous floats for Mardi Gras. There are so many on display at this warehouse and there is a short tour and gift store as well. It is also used for catered parties which is so much fun! Go see it...

The USA and particularly New Orleans knows how to throw a party. There are so may parades to watch great people watching as well. Bourbon street is a must see and witness for the tourist but you need to know that locals don't go there...too much of a party and too busy.yes they throw beads and other small items. Lots of security and police on all the corners. Bringnyourmcamera

,open mind and plan to have some fun.

Lots of interesting information in the tour about the floats and Mardi Gras itself. It was fun to be up close and see the floats.
The slice of King cake at the end was good, too.

Starting with a brief historical overview DVd and ending with a full tour of the float building and preparation area, Mardi Gras World is an amazing up close and personal view of how the floats are planned, prepped and finalized. You get to watch parts sculpted, painted, glued and fitted as well as tour the warehouse where the floats are stored. It's an amazing place, even showing you an array of costumes that are used during parade time. An OUTSTANDING experience!!!!!

On our last day in New Orleans, we planned to go here. We drove around looking for it. Using our GPS, it directed us across the river. We were then told over there that we had to go back across the river. We couldn't find any signage directing us to this attraction, which we thought was odd. We ended up finding it by accident by taking a wrong turn. We tried to park in the parking lot adjacent and were told we could not park there. We drove up closer to the entrance and asked some parking attendents standing around where we were suppose to park. The lady said she didn't know. Some guy came up to our car and said we had to park in Lot H which was quite a walk, especially since one of our party is disabled and has difficulty walking.
We all agreed to just forget Mardi Gras World .... what a disappointment!!
We are aware of all the activities going on (Super Bowl, Mardi Gras), but better parking arrangements and better signage would have been nice.
