Thank you to La Maison Marigny and John for an excellent experience on our first visit to New Orleans. Just the right location for leisurely walks through the French Quarter or Marigny neighborhoods. Great advice on where to eat and what to do. A home away from home. Thanks again John.

“Fabulous place, great host”

A truly wonderful experience staying in this beautifully restored and decorated house.
John is the most gracious host you could come across, very helpful with all sorts of information about New Orleans and the local French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny scene.
He serves a very generous continental breakfast in the lovely lounge area or if the weather suits you can eat out in the beautiful garden.
Location is just great - quiet ans safe residential area but an easy walk to the action in Bourbon Street and even closer to the lively music and restaurant area around Frenchman Street.
We were there for 5 nights in January 2007 and we just loved it!

My wife & I stayed at the La Maison Marigny over N.Year's and had a terrific time! Found it by chance on tripadvisor and all the reviews are on the mark. John was very helpful in answering our questions and giving honest answers about the local scene & had lots of info. on the Katrina recovery. Breakfast was great, the hospitality perfect, & the rooms were just what you'd hope for on a visit to N.Orleans. It's at the far end of Bourbon, but the walk to all the bars & restaurants was quick & easy. If needed, cabs arrived within minutes of calling. As I get older (41), the Bourbon St. scene is nice for a while, but you find yourself checking out more art galleries, the local architecture, nicer restaurants, places that aren't so touristy...by staying here we discovered a whole new side of the Quarter that we truly enjoyed (The Marigny, Frenchman St., & the blocks east of the Blacksmith Shop). Look forward to returning.

with the sole exception of La Maison Marigny. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this B&B. The owner, John, was the perfect host and the B&B was comfortable and charming. A great time was had by my entire crew. If our plans bring us to N.O. again, we hope to stay at the Marigny.

“Great B&B, Great Location”

My wife and I stayed at La Maison Marigny over Thanksgiving weekend and found it to be ideal. Foregoing the frilly decor nonsense that dominates most B&B's, the owners have decorated La Maison Marigny very tastefully with a touch of New Orleans. The rooms had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The breakfasts were tasty. The location was great (far enough away from the boisterous end of Bourbon, yet a three minute walk from Frenchman St, where a more local and mature crowd hangs out for dinner, drinks, and music.)

We were in NO to help rebuild hurricane-affected homes nearby, so we had to get up and go very early. The hosts at La Maison Marigny were remarkably agreeable about showing up an hour or more earlier in the morning than they normally would have just to accomodate our needs.

Unless you are looking for a B&B where you will be pampered and find five-star amenities, I would recommend La Maison Marigny unequivocally.

“The best place to stay in New Orleans”

We loved our stay at La Maison Marigny. Our Host, John was extremely helpful from the very moment we arrived. We felt like we were being greeted by a long time friend.
The BB is very conveniently located to the sights in the French Quarter, and the nightclubs on Frenchman St. It is very elegantly appointed. Our room had a private balcony in which we could sit out on, and enjoy the view of the neighborhood. Especially fun at night.
The rooms are beautiful, and so quiet, you won't know there are other guests in the house.
Our breakfast was fresh baked muffins, fresh fruit, yummy cereals, and many flavors of yogurt. There was always fresh juice, coffee, and soft drinks in the fridge.
John was very helpful in guiding us on where to go, and where to dine.
When we return to New Orleans, we will always stay at La Maison Marigny.
