“A lovely calm respite bordering the French Quarter.”

I stayed at La Maison Marigny while attending a conference during the jazz festival. John was a marvelous host, always ready with transit how-to's, suggestions for where to go running in the early am, and tips on fitting in some jazz fest time.
I am on a resteicted diet and he was very helpful in letting me stash my food and giving tips on where to buy stuff. The house is charming and the block was completely quiet and serene at the height of jazz fest, though it was just a couple of blocks from street musicians on Rue Royal and the clubs of Frenchman Street.

“Loved La Maison Marigny and the location!!”

Just returned from 3 nights over Easter. I really enjoyed my stay. John the owner was great and was helpful about restaurant suggestions and things to do. I stayed in the Owners suite on the first floor. It had a large living room and separate bedroom and bath. It was perfect for a 3 night stay. I also really liked the Marigny area. It had great creole cottages and it was 3 blocks to the popular Frenchman street for restaurants and music. It was just east of the Quarter. The best of both worlds I liked being in a quiet location but then a 15 minute walk to everything you would want to do. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again!!!!

“Fantastic B&B - highly recommend!”

We are in the airport after checking out of this great B&B, we spent 5 nights here and cannot fault it in any way. John was always there iin the morning to give advice on where to go/eat and was always happy to book trips/taxi's. HIs homemade muffins were to die for, breakfast also included fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals and fresh coffee and juices - yum yum!! We stayed in the courtyard room which was very comfortable and exceptionaly quiet. As an added bonus the B&B has free wifi and also a PC in the sunroom for whcih you could print off boarding passes etc, plus an internet phone where we were able to phone home in the UK at no cost. Location was ideal, 5 min walk to the hussle and bussle of Bourbon Street or the French Market area. Overall a great experience!

“True 5-Star B&B!!! You will not find a better B&B in NOLA or elsewhere.”

We were a bit apprehensive to stay in a B&B in NOLA after a bad experience at another 4-5-Star rated B&B in Barcelona. We wanted a comfortable and personal place to stay that was also quiet and close enough to all of the 'action' to walk. John from La Maison Marigny quickly made us feel that this was our place with quick answers to our questions by email prior to our booking. John followed with first-class service from the first meeting at the B&B until helping us call a taxi to the airport when we departed. He is a true professional and gift to the city of New Orleans.

La Maison Marigny is an easy 5-10 mins walking distance to the French Quarter craziness and around the corner from our preferred hang-out, Frenchmen Street. We felt completely safe walking to/from all points in downtown NOLA - even late into the evening. Locals were always kind, considerate, and helpful. Drunken tourists on the streets were typical drunken tourists, but it was Marti Gras after all.

The other guests staying at the B&B were also kind, quiet, and thoughtful. The speedy Wifi worked perfectly as did the Television, DVD, and iPod/iPhone music player / alarm clock in the room. This will be our first choice when we visit NOLA again. Thanks again John for the perfect stay.

“Wouldn't stay anywhere else!”

My partner and I came down to New Orleans for the first time and picked the Maison Marigny off of TA. It is one of the best B&B's I've stayed in. I prefer B&Bs because of the personal touches you often get from the owner, and John does not disappoint. Every morning he helped us plan out our day over a delicious breakfast. We are not big planners on vacations, and like to see how we feel on a particular day and go from there. We would give John a general idea, and he would give us all kinds of great suggestions. We would not have discovered many of the best things about New Orleans without his help. And he's hilarious and fun to talk to in the morning.

The rooms were decked out in a blend of Victorian and New Orleans decorations, which fit perfectly. We had the Owner's Suite which included a separate room with a couch and TV (not that we used the TV really in NOLA). There is also a beautiful, private back yard open to guests where we spent a lot of time resting and reading.

The location is probably the best part of this place. It's on Bourbon Street a short walk from both the craziness of the French Quarter and the less-touristy, laid back Frenchman St in the Marigny. We came expecting to spend a lot of time in the French Quarter, and quickly realized that we preferred the alternative, non-touristy, jazz places on Frenchman over the wild frat boy atmosphere of Bourbon St. So it was lucky we were so close by.

This is a great place to stay. The price is LOW for what you get, at least coming from Boston, where a boring, tiny room at the Marriott costs 300 bucks a night.

We had a lovely stay at La Maison Marigny in New Orleans. John, our host, could not have been more gracious and friendly. It was our first visit to New Orleans and he gave us lots of good ideas for things to see, and was a fountain of information about the area. We had a delightful visit; the fresh baked muffins for breakfast were a treat!
