No telling how much trouble I have gotten into around the French Quarter. That being said, it is a ball to go to with your friends. It is smelly, it is crowded, it is full of drunks, and it is a ball. Walk around, walk all around. You will find all kinds of cool things. Street performers, cool shops, cool bars, tasty restaurants, and wild people. Poke your head in any and everywhere - you never know what you will find. I went into a hotel to use the restroom and it had a carousel bar! During my last visit, I went to the Absinthe House which is on Jackson Square. It was my first time ever going, and it is one of the oldest bars in New Orleans! Your feet will hurt after walking such long distances, but it really is the only way to take in the whole city. A great place to be, and one of my favorites!

Easy to walk around, interesting mix off shops, cafes and beautiful old buildings to see. People were very friendly and prices were reasonable. It was all the more memorable as everything was beautifully decorated for Christmas. When you visit remember to look up as there is some beautiful ironwork balconies on the buildings. A lovely place to visit with so many interesting things to do.

The jazz clubs on Frenchmen St., the antique shops on Royal, the beautiful boutiques on Chartres, the fabulous finds at French Market -- the Quarter is the heart of NOLA and the only place to be!

Walking around the French Quarter was a highlight of our trip to NOLA. Each day we saw things we had missed on previous walks. Interesting architecture, shops, restaurants and a fascinating history. An amazing assortment of tours is available for those who prefer a guided walk.

Just a fantastic place to visit. Fun, fun, fun, it has a little of everything for adults. This is not a place for children.
