It is a great area with wonderful restaurants and great bars like Pat O"Briens. A great tourist area where you can also take tours of the area.

“A must see/eat/experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

I recently went to the French Quarter Festival, which happens every April. It's full of music, food and culture. The entire river front is filled with different stages of music, you are able to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sit lay or stand and watch your favorite artist or style of music. Local restaurants set up booth to sample flavorful foods from burgers to crawfish ettouffe. For a small price your can enjoy New Orleans music, cuisine and culture. If you have never been it's a must see spring festival. It's crowded but that makes it even better!!

“a bit much at times....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Don't get me wrong, this neighborhood is incredible. The streets are beyond gorgeous, the bars and restaurants are lively and fun, and the people watching is priceless. I just with it didn't smell so bad. I get that the area is packed all the time, but a nice hose-down every few days would be great. It was also difficult to safely walk around when cars totally ignore stop signs or pedestrians. I get that the area is a nigh mare to drive through, but a note to all drives, there are MUCH LESS CROWED streets a few blocks up from st ann. Why try going down Bourbon or Royal?? I hope the city of New Orleans will eventually make the busier streets walking only like the do for parts of Bourbon on the weekends.

“You've Got To Do It Once”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

Bourbon Street at night was like Disneyland for drunk adults. On a Thursday night the street was packed with people. It's fun strolling along with a drink in your hand, as many do. The music on the street was cacophonous as music came out of most bars who had their fronts open and at any given location on the street you could hear six bands at once of different styles. It is a party site worth experiencing at least once in life.
