Our original room was beautiful and small but intimate and we would have had to share the bathroom. We also had a private balcony with that room but when Steve saw the master bedroom and found out it was available. He decided to up-grade. For me It was the honeymoon suite we never had. There was a red velvet chaise lounge and a great red velvet chair. Sometimes red velvet can look really tacky but this was sweet and romantic. Our shower was a real surprise there were two shower heads so this petite woman was caught in the cross hairs , The room was naturally dark but there were at least 4 lamps including a beautiful floor lamp. I appreciated the furnishings in the room the furniture was beautiful and touchable. It was nearly our 43 anniversary and it was great way to start out. Don Ayala was a perfect host. He was totally aware of the neighborhood and directed us to a bar called Down the Hatch for dinner the first night. It was the only place opened and that was serving food.
This property is beautiful. My wife and I got a chance to see all of the
bedrooms. All of them were beautiful and charming. Don was a fantastic host,
and a wonderful person to get to know. He is a person who truly loves
New Orleans. The surrounding neighborhood was lovely as well.
We found this great place after having an Air BnB in another city cancel on us with only a week to find a replacement. We thought we were lucky with this price and location, but we had no idea how wonderful it would be. We arrived to find a beautiful home in the garden district, just a block from Magazine Street. The bedroom was lovely and the bathroom was practically luxurious. Everything we needed was on site. Indira met us and showed us around the house and gave us some great breakfast recommendations. There were some other guests while we were staying but the place is large enough we only saw them once or twice in passing. I would recommend this for any single or couple who wants to enough the more calm, local experience of New Orleans.
Great location away from Bourbon, but easily accessible. The street cars are a quick walk away, and the Garden district has great restaurants and shops. Loved the room and house. Indira made us feel at home and was amazing hostess. Will return if available on our next visit.
We had a wonderful time at this guesthouse. Don was a warm and friendly host and the house is so close to Magazine street, which hosts a range of restaurants, shops and nightlife. The house itself is full of New Orleans charm and Don gave us a range of helpful tips. Thanks!
I really love loved this home. Andrea and Ina were a great help with my stay there. I would highly recommend this home.
