“Such a beautiful place”

This park is great. The views from some of the mountain tops are spectacular, park one way, pacific ocean the other way. The rivers are stunning with some amazing waterfalls and lots of frogs.

“Manolo is a fabulous guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

We arranged a tour (though not in the park) with Manolo and his lovely girlfriend Irene. The adventure was amazing, we stayed overnight by a river - did some rock climbing, swam in waterfalls, hung out in the river, and were cooked a delicious meal by some locals that live a ways from the river. I can't stress enough how great this was. If you get a chance look up imposible tours

“Best day tour in the country of El Sal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

Although when you look at the map it looks like it is a long way from anything, take the time to go to El Imposible. We spent the night in Tacuba and contacted Manolo Gomez, Guide Extraordinaire, at his hostel, for a guide through the park the next day. THIS IS THE MOST FUN DAY TRIP IN THIS COUNTRY (in our humble opinions). We were treated to a bumpy ride down the mountain and then set off by foot to continue down the gorge, walking through the fields of coffee bushes, and following the river bed to the first set (of many) waterfalls. Manolo assured us it was safe, and away we went. There were 7 sets of jumps, various heights, into beautiful, clean, coolish water, a couple of rappels down MAJOR falls, and a few waterslides over the rocks into the pools below. An included basic picnic lunch on the edge of a 75' waterfall, while setting us up for the last jump of the day, was pretty special. The trip back up the hill, (about an hour long slog) wasn't so fun but "what goes down, must go back up". Manolo was great, the views, the fun and the experience was not to be missed. This is probably not an excursion for the faint of heart, if you don't like nature, or if you aren't terribly fit, but for everyone else, it'll be what you'll be talking about when you return from your trip to El Sal. Secret tip.....ask Manolo about the private hotspring pools at the coffee plantation. Another memorable experience.
