Stayed at The Speckled Hen Inn for a week in September whilst visiting our son at University in Madison. Elegantly furnished and comfortable throughout, guests have access to a microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher, kettle and coffee maker. Tea and coffee is complimentary and available all day and night. The property is spotlessly clean and the bathroom was well provided with towels. Pat and Robert are friendly and helpful whilst also unobtrusive hosts. Breakasts are wonderful, and much
local produce is used, including eggs from their own hens. Staying here is more like staying at a friends home than at a B&B, and access to a lovely lounge area made our stay much more enjoyable. There is ample car parking space, and you can take a pleasant walk around the property. It is unlikely that you will need any lunch after eating the breakfast provided here. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and absolutely loved it. The owners were so so friendly without being invasive. The breakfasts were amazing! There were so many little touches that made the place comfortable and adorable. I will definitely be staying there whenever I'm in Madison. Highly recommended!

I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Madison area. Very nice and clean. Close to downtown Madison. Inn keepers are very nice without being too intrusive. The inn is primarily run by a wife and the husband, a retired businessman, is spends his time helping her out and making the guests feel at home. Within minutes of arriving he was setting us up with some wine and restaurant information. The breakfast was delicious and creative (it was the 4th of July and the breakfast was color coordinated for the holiday).
I used to live in Chicago and recommend this place to any friend who is going up to the area for the weekend.

Thanks for a great stay.. we have travelled in many parts of the world for many years and have experienced many types of acommodation but this inn we found to be comforable- warm -inviting-very clean- and of a very high standard.. it provides all the needs for the discerning traveller. and much effort has been given to detail to make your stay excellent.. we can highly recommend this inn. We will surely without a doubt return if ever in the area again ..

My husband is from Madison WI. We had to go back for a family wedding and to see his dad. We are both young professionals living and working in Washington DC and we do not get to get away that often. We thought we would take advantage of the long weekend and make it a special one.
We started looking for B&B’s in the area where the wedding was going to be held and we came across The Speckled Hen Inn. We read what others said and we thought this would be the perfect place to stay.
Words cannot describe how wonderful our entire experience was. The inn keepers make us feel like we are one of the family! The breakfast is beyond amazing! The grounds are beautiful!
Everything about this place is comfortable. From the minute you walk in the door you feel like you are home. No small detail is over looked from the automatic one cup coffee maker to perfectly themed bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were heavenly.
I travel a lot for work and I am so sick of hotel shampoo and hairdryers that leave your hair limper then when you started, not here! The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were top notch- something you would use at home. The hair dryer was powerful!
At dinner last night we were explaining our weekend experience to friends and the only way that we could describe it was “our new favorite place to go to in the country.”
I wish we could escape to Madison more often.
