That was a good surprise to find Samba in Madison. Was also a good way of showing friends the way Brazilian Churrasco - barbecue - is done. It was a pleasant night out with friends and very similar to the Barbecue places one can find in Brazil. Salad bar was great and the meat was very good and perfectly prepared in the Gaucho way of doing it.

We spent 4 days in Madison for a conference and were beginning to think Badgers don't like good food...until we discovered Samba. Have been to lots of churascarria restaurants in central and South America. This one was among the best. The setting was relatively quiet (we went early) and the music Brazilian. Waitstaff prompt, polite and very attentive. Salad bar, with its 40+ healthful and interesting items (including my favorite, spiced almonds, grilled cherry tomatoes, lightly grilled vegs, cheeses, two stews, a soup, as well as chimichurri and some side vegs) apparently can be enjoyed on its own or with grilled pineapple. But who would? With gauchos bearing 9 different kinds of grilled meats and the aforementioned pineapple (not local...) to your table at about 1 per minute until you put up the red cone! The wine list was relatively extensive and include a Torrontes from Salta (Argentina) in addition to the requisite reds from Mendoza. Dinner for two with wine and tip $100, not out of line with other recommended restaurants in town which appear to have much less variety and ambience.

Well, I am Brazilian and I guess I was expecting more. I love steakhouses and I was a little disappointed. The most brazilian thing there is the name of the restaurant. They had no guarana, no natural fruit juice and their deserts are not very brazilian. I did try their "brigadeiro cake" and it was very good. Their pineapple was outstanding. Their meat was okay. Salad bar was also okay. Their heart of Palm tasted bad.

Come if you're hungry and want a unique dining experience. I found all of the meats to be delicious, the service was perfect, the side salad bar was fabulous, and the ambiance was romantic. Definitely returning to this restaurant. Value was right on. Nobody should complain about thee price unless they are used to dining at all-you-can-eat buffets with horrible food.

I'll be returning as the evening was wonderful.

This restaurant has a great interior and is an excellent choice for a large group dinner. I was pleased with the service, one gaucho in particular was particularly excellent. The meat was good, the flank steak being the highlight. The mango chicken was underwhelming, garlic rubbed chicken was much better, wasn't a huge fan of the top sirloin. I actually was most impressed with the (unique) salad bar. Great mashed potatoes, loved the bean salad, roasted zucchini and tomatoes, all around very tasty and filling.
