“Downtown Madison, WI Restaurant, pleasant surprise”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We just happened upon this restaurant while visiting Madison for a football weekend! We were very, very pleased. The irish pub was so cozy and the staff was friendly and professional. It was extremely busy and our wait was minimal for a football Saturday. The location is great, across from the Capitol and the food was excellent! We had a variety of sandwiches and no one was disappointed. While I did not have the Reuben, two of our party did and they both said it was the best they have ever had. The corn beef was very tender and tasty. One person had the pesto chicken wrap and also was more than pleased. For an appetizer we all devoured the beer cheese dip. It was served warm and the pretzel bread was awesome! We all are ready for our next visit to Madison and will definitely go back!

“Guinness and beer made in a wine cask.”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Drove back to Madison to go have brats and to have a pint at BROCACH. They had two fiddlers practicing while we had our pints and took in the rustic Dublin-like pub which had the same feel. So impressed with the new Guinness glassed purchased two to take home.

“something on the menu for most”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We have been to Brocach on a few occasions in both locations. The staff are good and attentive. They can cater for celiac and have a list that can help you decide. I always like the full Irish breakfast. My wife got a biscuit with egg, cheese and rasher with a side of breakfast potatoes and fresh fruit. The biscuit was the biggest i have ever seen and my wife enjoyed it. They changed our order because it had a sauce we did not request, so a whole new portion of potatoes and fruit. I think it is priced fairly well.

“Nice pub food!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Dude... for a pub, the food here is superb.

No joke, I have had every single one of the Irish specialties on Brocach's menu, even the vegetarian shepherd's pie (and I'm a meat lover). They are usually both quality and quantity. So if you go to here, you can probably pick anything in that section and it'll be a safe bet that you'll be satisfied (maybe not, since you'll probably want to come back and try the other stuff). I'm also a fan of the Irish Stew. It's an interesting and original dish, with beef, lamb, and veggies cooked in Guinness broth. Give it a shot if you're brave.

Sadly, I haven't had anything other than the Irish specialties, but I'm sure the other stuff is good too.

“Reliable but overpriced”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Brochach's food is reliably good, and the atmosphere is great, but the food tends to be a little overpriced for what you get. It also tends to get a little loud and crowded, but that's not necessarily a problem, provided you know what you're getting in to.
