“lovely views of Lake Mendota”

Great place to relax with either a beer or some great home-made ice cream. Watching the boats and the coeds are great sports there..

“A Madison Must See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

When in Madison, this is an experience you need to have. The Terrace has great atmosphere! There's nothing like a sunny afternoon, sipping a beverage and watching the sailboats on Lake Mendota. If you stay around long enough to watch the sunset over Picnic Point, it is breath-taking! Hang around a little longer and you might get lucky enough to catch some local musical talent. The Terrace is a place that draws students in while attending UW Madison. Returning alums and Madison residents make it a regular hang out from spring through fall.

“Place to soak up University atmosphere and entertainment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Usually there is live music Thursday through Saturday, otherwise a fine place to grab a bite, particularly in the warmer months. Union South is an alternative, also impressive, if far less historic and a bit gentrified.

“Not just for students”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Best place to bring friends and family to visit.
Get some beer and sit along the walk, watching the sail boat and wind surf on the lake. That is the best part of the day.
Students like to bring their book and computer to study there. But friends and family were all welcome. You can watch how Madison people were enjoying their life there.
There were a lot of program and music at night.
The beauty of all of those are free.
Don't forget to get UW Blake Hall ice cream. They are unite and the only kind you can get there.

“Summertime fun.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

Any visitor to Madison needs to experience the memorial union - to just sit and enjoy the lake, get a beer and brat or listen to music on the evenings when they have music. It's the happening place so sometimes you'll need to be creative to find seating and parking is ALWAYS a problem. Best bet is the Lake/Frances St. ramp and then walk over. Makes you feel like you're back in college.
