“good food,friendly staff,great atmosphere”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Old Country Buffet, now called Home Town Buffet, in Madison is one of the best places to go if you are hungry. They have the best variety of food for any appetite. We are not familiar with the Madison area so called for directions, Doug gave us precise, easy to follow directions and we were there within minutes. The rest of the staff are just as friendly and helpful. We will be back.

“costs too much for what you get...”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

It's not bad and there is for sure things on the buffet that are good. I do think for the price of the buffet that it would be better. I think it's $11.00 and then another $2.00 or more for a soda. You can get a pretty good dinner for that amount elsewhere like Chili's or Applebees. The part that is good is the dessert bar. Awesome deserts. Another thing they do not watch at all is little kids! They come up and decide by themselves what cookie they want and put one back and grab another. I've actually told kids there not to touch everything. Where are the parents?! More signs would be helpful.

“It is what it is...”

Eh, it's a buffet. Stuff yourself on American food du jour. Mostly standard and occasionally sub-standard food. Vast selection so you really can't go wrong with picking something. Go hungry and see how many trips you can make.

“One of the Best of this Chain”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

We travel all over the US and have eaten at several of these chain restaurants. This one by far is the best. It's clean, very well managed and the food tastes good. For the most part the employees are courteous, the managers are very helpful and genuinely want you to have a pleasant experience. We had an issue with one of the dishes, my husband brought it to the attention of our server, who in turn told the manager. Next thing we knew the manager was at our table explaining to us how the dish was made and assured us that it was cooked properly, he had taken the temperature of the food. Would not hesitate to go to this OCB. Keep up the good work!

“Not bad for a buffet”
Reviewed November 30, 2011

I've ended up becoming a connoisseur of buffets, not by choice, but because my family is obsessed with going to them. Old Country Buffet is not bad for a buffet, but is probably best if you're sticking to your standard breakfast fare of bacon and eggs. There's always a great variety of food from corned beef hash and hashed browns and the food isn't bad for a buffet. Old Country Buffet is a diplomatic solution when you have 20 family members with different palates.
