“Quick bite!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

Stopped her for a quick bite to eat while listening to Jazz performed right outside this shop. I tried the Chicken Veggie and it was like a chicken pot pie hot pocket on steroids! Glad he offered to cut it in half for me. Really good, but could only eat half.

“Good, cheap eats”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

I have no idea what you call the stuff that Teddywedgers sells. Pies? Pizzas? Calzones? Burrito? Not sure, but the concept is probably closer to a miniture calzone with different types of filling.

Whatever these things are, they are pretty good, sizable, filling, and cheap (~$5). There's no seating here as it is a grab and go sort of place, but don't overlook this interesting little shop when you pass by.

“Very good but not exactly "Cornish" pasties”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

If you want a tasty (very) filling meal, Teddywedgers will certainly deliver the goods. If you want a pasty that is close to a real Cornish one, you'll be disappointed.

The centre is really tasty but what you get is closer to a pie - deep, circular and with very thick pastry. It should be a semi-circle and with thin, strong pastry that doesn't overwhelm the other ingredients. (Just Google "Cornish pasty")

But try it out. It's certainly worth a visit.

Signed,
A Cornishman whose mother made the best pasties ever.

“Generally great but unconventional pasties.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2011

This tiny place at the top of State Street serves up big pasties in many varieties. I've been told that their pasties are not really the same thing as the traditional variety however their "big cheesy" (which is like a big pizza pocket) is delicious.

“Good wedges. RIP Myles.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2010

So sad. You can get the wedges to go, and bake at home. The smell will draw you from the passing streets. This is not a restaurant, but a corner shop with food. Theres 3 stools in the shop. The owner passed away last year.
