Say you forced to shop at West Towne Mall and become ravenous after loading up on Pottery Barn sale items, don't go for predictable and hit the food court. Donc passer (So passe). Instead, venture outside (squint when you see that bright orb in the sky) and walk (yes, walk to burn off butter calories you will consume shortly) down Mineral Point to the strip mall across from Shopko and visit La Baguette. Their French (really - if you can speak some passable high school French - try it out) and they know their pastries. The quiches are to die for - beautiful homemade butter-laden crusts and perfect eggs & ingredients on top. Soups are homemade and the best part, they give you LOTS of cheese and homemade croutons to add making it worthy of a trip to the ER if you prone to butter attacks. Oh, and the pastries. Delectable! The atmosphere is wonderful - feels bright, airy and quaint - despite it's location (a strip mall). If they could figure out how to add cobblestone sidewalks and some ivy to the facade, you might think you are actually in France. Anytime I have chance to happen by around lunch, I partake. Highly recommend.
