Ok, it's a great place to be during the Farmer's Market in the summer or on the Wed. night Concert on the Square. The rest of the time it's just like any other big city with it's problems. We took the grandchildren to the Historical Museum and the Library. The one block walk between the two featured 35 homeless or cmi type people who were smoking, blocked our way and were scary. I want to say that they probably sleep at the Church around the corner at night and have nowhere to go during the day. It's filled with empty store fronts and litter. The Capitol is one block away and you would think the City of Madison would want to have a better impression and safer experience for visitors and residents who want to go there during the week.
