“Sits on an Isthmus”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

this was a fun experience as Capitol Square is not only scenic and beautiful but it's location between 2 lakes makes it unique. They have a huge farmers market every Saturday and the produce is worth seeing/buying all on its own!

“Great small town feel”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We really enjoyed visiting the capitol building area. The building itself is very classic and has great architecture. From the top you can go out to an observation area where you can look out on all of Madison, pretty cool.

The area surrounding the building is a really great, small-town area with shops and often various kinds of markets.

“The heart of Madison”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

We go to the Farmer's Market every year we are in town and it never fails to impress. We live in Hawaii so never get cheese curds and rhubarb is hard to come by so we try to get both at the Farmer's Market. It can get crowded but if you take your time and enjoy the ambience and maybe duck into the capitol building for a peek or a bathroom break makes it all worthwhile.

“Great farmers market!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

The farmers market on Saturdays through October is second to none! It can be very crowded but well worth it. Best produce and specialty items of any market I have been to.

“Mad City has a Great Vibe”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Visiting Madison and Capital Square makes you understand why Madison is continually rated as one of the best places to live in the US. Summers you can experience one of the best farmer's markets (the vegetables are gorgeous and reasonable), The Taste of Madison is not to be missed and fun shops along State Street. We are Chicagoans who regularly come up to Madison for fun weekends without the traffic, stress and cost of our home town. Love Love Love it!
