“Worth it”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

Be sure to take the 1:00 (only one) tour or you miss a lot of the detail. And, go to cafe on roof (closed if weather is the least inclement).

“Along the lake shore of Lake Monona”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

My wife and I walked around here on a recent weekend trip to Madison. This area is very nice; a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright design along the lake shore of Lake Monona. This area is quite peaceful and full of beautiful trees.

“Best Lake View in Madison!”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

There are a variety of events hosted here, but I love coming in the summer to just hang out on many chairs and relax in the sun and by the lake. The Farmer's Market is indoors in the winter and that is pretty fun too, and its a great wedding venue too!

“good experience/ needs rearrangement”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I recently attended a conference held at Monona Terrace and my only wish is that the arena wasn't long and narrow. Seating means difficulty seeing what is taking place during presentations, even with the large screens and sound is difficult to control.

“Great building & panoramic view of lake”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Monona Terrace is a beautiful and unusual modern public building near the heart of downtown Madison. It's long and low, 3 stories. Various events are held here, such as the state gathering of music teachers each year. The public is invited to some performances. Also, big band music is frequently free in the basement ballroom with dancing. They have good bands. Music lovers see friends and mingle. It's has a lot of glass on the Lake side. If you visit Madison, you'll want to see the view and the building. It was designed Frank Lloyd Wright, the best architect of his century, they say. See First Unitarian church while you're here. He designed it, too. if you research The Isthmus Guide online, by date or keyword, you can find all sorts of music and events held there, sometimes including New Years Eve for families.
