Did a quick walk through of this beautiful building. The detailing is amazing a real feast for the eyes. Went for a walk and it turned out that this building was open on a Sunday morning.

We visited the capitol to attend the Farmers Market. This is one of my favorite Farmers Markets and the largest I've attended. Fresh flowers, great food and produce. Anything you might like! The capitol itself is beautiful inside and out. Very much worth visiting.

My friend and I took the free one hour tour of the Capitol on a Saturday. The guide was very informative and showed us all the various rooms and explained their function and explained the history of the paintings on the walls. Everything was very ornate. At the end of the tour we were able to go on observation deck and get an amazing view of Madison. It was well worth the time.

The state capitol building of Wisconsin is magnificent. I’ve been visiting it for over 50 years and it never gets old. It is kid-friendly and adult-friendly. There are sculptures, mosaics, paintings, marble floors and pillars, a beautiful dome with a huge painting that looks tiny from the rotunda. If you take one of the tours that takes you to its upper reaches you can see just how large the painting really is. It’s a building that belongs to all the citizens of Wisconsin and the vibe is welcoming.

The Wisconsin State Capitol is atop the list of places to visit when in Madison. To stand on the marbled ground floor and look up at the dome and rotund is awe inspiring beauty. Take the tour guide route for real informative and interesting information on the history of the capitol building.

Parking was easy on street. We did a self guided tour of this beautiful state capital. We were able to see many different areas and enjoy the art and craftsmanship of the building

Such a majestic old building. For those that appreciate architecture, this place is a real gem.

First, there is no charge for wander the halls and take photos.

Second, there are tours available.

The use of natural light throughout the building is amazing. It brings an element of light even on a very rainy day.

We skipped the roof due to rain, but I regret that choice.

A must see!
